Quick Safety Tip: Obstructed Views

Written by Mike Hart | July 30, 2018

Can you see them, can they see you?

One of our customers shared an incident they had recently: an employee suffered a broken elbow and pelvis when he was struck by a fork truck.

The employee was on foot going to assist with a problem that the fork truck driver was also driving to go assist.  Neither employee knew of the others presence.

As you can see in the pictures below, there are many obstructed views in and around our equipment:

Safety Tip

Ensure powered equipment operators are always using their horns at intersections, coming out of trailers, around corners, where your view is obstructed, etc.

When walking, never assume we can be seen.  Always wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and never walk through machine doors.
